SampleBasement has released Thor Sounds Vol. 3, the third and final version of its Thor Sounds ReFill series. Thor Sounds Vol.3 brings you a wealth of sounds for Reason 4. Included are 406 Thor patches and 172 Combinators. Aimed at the modern dance producer with a diverse and up to date set of. ![]() Thors Hammer is a Reason Refill project that started around 1 april 2014 and is released on the 1st of march 2015. This might explain why Thors Hammer is one of the largest free reason refill package out there from this day on. This reason refill contains almost 4000 patches. While the original target was quite a little bit different (8000 to be exact) the project was adjusted during the production of this massive project. The complete refill is Reason 4 (confirmed and tested) and upwards compatible. It comes with 1988 clean thor patches and 1971 complex combinator patches. Where most of the combinator patches are based on the ideas on the initial Thor patches (hence they are almost identical in folder structure). As far the patch list goes, it could be described in full in this article. However, most people will load up the sounds themselves and take them for a spin. Mbfrancis wrote:The only gripe I have - and it seems churlish to complain about so generous a refill - is that in none of the patches I tried had the Mod Wheel routed to anything.seemed like a missed opportunity. Fair complain. The subject was also raised during beta testing (release candidates). The only argument that we could agree on during this stage is 'where do you end patching a device'. Especially with Thor you have things like aftertouch, expression, sustain pedals, voice keys and so on. Everything can be programmed to do something. However, I just decided not to focus on this that much since otherwise there would not be an end game to patching a Thor device. While doing the combinators I decided to program a few of these devices using the modwheel, simply because due to the limitations of 4 rotaries, 4 buttons the combi has. Hopefully that clears that part up. I am glad to see that some people are really enjoying this stuff I have been making so far. I haven't really replied to everyone yet, since I was a bit occupied during the last few days. But it shows that the amount if work is appreciated, and I will try to continue to do so. Currently I am already working on a new project, which isn't going to be as big as this one. But its also going to be free at the same time. Expect this to be released somewhere in the next few months (depends on how fast things go on my end, and what kind of rocky road I might be driving to get there where I want this thing to be at).
